Historical Context of Mind-Body Dualism Pattie D King December 9, 2019 Topic of Article One "Mind-Body Dualism, Kripke's Legacy" Summary The purpose of this article was to argue the stability of Kripke's and Chalmers' mind-body identity and their different approaches of the argument of materialism by being able to support one individual's thesis where it was believed that Chalmers succeeds to improve Kripke's argument by interpreting an alternate definition of materialism. The process of doing this was by evaluating the belief of the other with calculations due to the assumption of division between the consciousness and the brain about the future of science. It was believed with using Chalmersstyle definition of materialism, the Mind and body relationship of materialism would not be given the strength to be rejected and be able to give a dualist point of view to the neuronal basis of consciousness with the mental state is connected and leads to a metaphysical possibility (SORA, 2012) Perspectives With not being able to accept the full independence of consciousness and the properties of the brain as of yet; A consideration that the conscious states are connected with the brain in an obligatory manner.
