How my travel experience change my views on life
Ever since I could imagine, one of my biggest dreams was to be able to travel the world. I can say that I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places around the world such as a few countries in Europe, Central America, The Caribbean islands of Puerto Rico, Cuba & The Dominican Republic. I would like to discuss about the time when I was robbed, mugged by two young men while vacationing in the Dominican Republic, and how this experience change my views on life.
We were robbed by two men with a gun in front of our house in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
The day after this incident I knew I would have to talk to someone about this traumatic experience. My cousin & I was visiting friends for the evening and we arrive to our house around 10pm. After being settled in we went outside the front porch of my apartment to have some beers & listen to music. We were at least for almost two hours on the front porch having a conversation.
During that time, we saw some of our other neighbors arriving home. We also saw other people walking around the neighborhood. Then we saw two young men get off their motorcycle, immediately walking straight towards us. As soon as we saw them we knew we were in trouble. The one of the left had a black pistol and the one on the right had a well sharpened kitchen knife. They were asking for our phones, wallets & any valuables.
