I am not a big fan of cooking. I'll do it occasionally due to necessity rather than for love of cooking. But there are a few times when I want to impress my family, boyfriend, and close friends. That's when I'll make my honey-mustard chicken. It's good for any occasion and anytime of the year. My aunt taught me how to make it and not to sound overconfident or anything but it's really delicious. Anyone can try this meal, because it's sweet but not hot and spicy. You can also smell the grated orange peel in the chicken, adds a bit of freshness. This is one of my favorite recipes to make and enjoy eating. It's also very easy to make. It'll take about 40 minutes; 10 minutes for preparation and 30 minutes for cooking time. This meal will usually serve 4, depending on how hungry you are. These are the things you will need before you begin:*1/3 cup Dijon mustard*1/3 cup honey*2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill or 1 tablespoon dried dill*1 teaspoon freshly grated orange peel*1(1/2lb.) chicken, quartered and defrosted*baking sheet and foil*basting brush for sauceThe first thing you will want to do after you have all the ingredients is to make the honey-mustard sauce. Combine the Dijon mustard and honey in a small bowl. Stir in the dill and orange peel. Mix well. You can leave it in the fridge if you want or just leave it out until you're ready to coat the chicken. Secondly, preheat the oven to 400° F. Then line a baking sheet with foil and place the quartered and defrosted chicken skin-side down, in the foiled baking sheet. Next, using a basting brush, brush the honey-mustard sauce on top of the chicken; make sure to coat it well. Turn the chicken over and do the same thing to the skin side, pulling back the skin gently; don't pull too hard. In addition, be sure to pull back the skin to cover the sauce. Use the remaining sauce to brush the chicken. Now you are ready to cook the chicken in the oven. Bake until the juices run clear. You can check by piercing the thickest portion of the chicken with a knife. Another idea would be to set a timer for 30 minutes but keep an eye on the oven.As I said earlier, this meal is really fast and easy to make. I've been making honey-mustard chicken for almost 6 years and I've never encountered any problems while preparing this dish. Everyone I've made it for has enjoyed it.
