Nowadays, technology has been the most significant change in teaching and learning that we will ever see in classrooms. Computers, tablets, and new technology surround student’s lives, except when they are inside of a classroom. On my point of view, schools have to have sufficient technology infrastructures to support their students because many students cannot afford a computer for school usage. With technology in classrooms, students can have access to the Internet, and also access to fresh information that can improve their learning experience. Also, we all know that using the Internet in classrooms can be a distraction, and it has many negative points, but the important thing is the positive points. For instance, you can use the Internet to read a book online, research information, upload homework and submit it. Therefore, the use of Internet in classrooms must not be prohibited because students are using it for educational purposes only.
The Internet allows students to investigate almost any educational topic by the click of the mouse (Feldman, 1999). The information that they are able to acquire far surpasses the knowledge of any single teacher alone. Unlike in the typical textbook the information that students learn online is updated frequently and would almost always holds more relevance. Teachers would also be given the opportunity to be able to pick from a large selection of sources to model their lesson plans rather than following a pre-planned curriculum from a teaching manual. Both students and teachers would be exposed to many more options.
