Growing up in the multiple neighborhoods where I was raised, I was lucky to come home each day safely let alone with school on my mind. When I was younger, the influences around me didn't place much emphasis or high priority on education. When I would accomplish something I didn't receive the standard "way to go son" type reward that I probably should have received. Instead, I was left with the feeling that when I did well, it would just cause jealousy and its best that I not even bother. It has taken me many years but I now realize that if I put my mind to it, I can achieve whatever I want. Thisnew broadening of my horizons will be crucial for me. To be successful I need to be willing to place myself in these situations without hesitation. By doing so, I will learn to be both open and fearless in both the professional world and in everyday life.I know a great deal about many different aspects of life. School however, is not one of them. In order to be successful it will be crucial that I attain a solid knowledge base about an array of school based subjects such as math, science, history, English etc. With my already sound base of everyday life knowledge coupled with a diversified base educational knowledge, I will live a confident life style in which I don't hesitate to present my ideas.My overall investment in education will undoubtedly make me an outstanding and extremely marketable job candidate. With our economy in near shambles it's difficult to obtain a position working as a gas station clerk without some form of education or credentials. The field I choose will be such that my education will make me in demand and desired as an employee. I will make it a point to apply a great deal of the things I learn in school toward whatever my desired position might be.In order for me to obtain the goals I have in life, my education will be a vital investment. My expanded horizons, diversified knowledge base, and marketability as an employee will all be great payoffs from my education. Although my childhood may have been spent living in fear that success will cause jealousy, my adult life will be spent with the knowledge that I am in charge now and no one is going to hold me back. I will be successful and my investment in education will be my first step.
