Bukan kakak tak pernah mengatur janji temu dengan orang yang dia berkenan. Bukan sekali, bukan dua, malah sudah berpuluh kali tapi semuanya tidak berakhir dengan hari bahagia yang kakak diharapkan. Cuba beberapa kali dan asyik gagal, kakak jadi serik dan terus-terusan menderita hinggalah emak ambil keputusan untuk campur tangan.Emak tidak sanggup melihat kakak berduka lagi. Putih melepak macam kakak juga. Kurus pun macam kakak. Cuma, sinar matanya sudah redup. Mungkin kerana sudah dimakan usia. Perut dia buncit sedikit tapi apa pun, kakak senang hati juga sebab dia ada janggut sejemput di dagu. Walaupun janggut dia sudah memutih, kakak tak kisah kerana kakak memang suka orang berjanggut dan berkumis nipis. Macam dia! Dia tidaklah seburuk lelaki tua yang hampir bongkok tiga berkulit menggeleber seperti yang kakak bayangkan dalam mimpi kakak.Pertemuan pertama kakak dan dia, emak mencelah ikut. Emak cakap betul-betul pada dia, tujuan emak. Emak cakap niat ikhlas emak mahu temukan kakak dengan dia. Emak ceritakan apa yang telah kakak alami dan harap dia dapat terima kakak. Biar orang kata perigi mencari timba. Emak tak kisah asalkan kakak tidak terus-terusan menderita. Emak mahu kakak bahagia bersama dengan orang yang emak kenal hati budinya.Pertemuan demi pertemuan diatur selepas itu. Kakak nampaknya bahagia sungguh. Kakak yang dulu muram-buram kian ceria. Kakak tidak menangis lagi malam-malam. Kakak sudah pandai senyum-senyum sendiri. Kalau dulu, kakak boleh saja tiba-tiba menangis tapi sejak berkenalan dengan dia, kakak tidak lagi menangis. Benarlah, pilihan emak memang tepat.Kakak dengan dia serasi betul. Tak lama berkenalan, hari bahagia yang dinantikan akhirnya emak aturkan. Emak kata, hari yang baik tak patut ditangguh-tangguhkan. Emak mahu hari yang bersejarah itu dirancang baik-baik. Emak mahu hari itu jadi hari yang cukup bermakna buat kakak. Dia cadangkan hari yang sesuai pada Emak dan setelah dirundingkan bersama dengan kakak, hari bahagia itupun ditetapkan, 28 April, sama dengan tarikh lahir kakak.Wajah kakak sungguh berseri-seri hari itu. Hari bahagia yang kakak nanti-nantikan. Hari yang akan melenyapkan segala kedukaan kakak. Tapi, sebenarnya dalam hati kakak, kakak berdebar-debar juga. Apa tidaknya, kakak teringat cerita pengalaman rakan taulan kakak kali 'pertama' menempuh hari bahagia. Emak pun ada ceritakan pada kakak. Kata emak, bukan untuk menakut-nakutkan kakak. Cuma untuk memberi panduan dan mengajar kakak. Kalau sakit, jangan menangis. Kalau dia terkasar, jangan meraung. Cakap baik-baik minta dia buat perlahan-lahan. Dia akan faham. Ini bukan kali pertama bagi dia. Dia sudah punya pengalaman. Kata emak, darah memang akan keluar. Itu biasa tapi emak pesan awal-awal pada kakak supaya kakak tidak panik dan terkejut nanti. Emak akan doa. Isya-Allah, semuanya akan selamat.Kakak sudah biasa ditinggalkan berdua dengan dia tapi hari itu, hari yang sepatutnya jadi hari bahagia buat kakak, kakak jadi takut pula.
