Anywhere you travel, you find something interesting. Therefore, going to the Bluegrass state, you will find loads of adventure. Kentucky is a place to feel free and have fun any time of the day. The reasons why I loved this place as a kid are because of the multiple seasons, exciting sports, and beautiful sites.
When it comes to great outdoor weather, Kentucky awakens with color and liveliness. There are all four seasons of the year, plus there is a hunting season. I love all the seasons in Kentucky. Summer and Spring weren't too hot, and you can do lots of fun outdoor adventures. As a kid, I would go outside in the warm weather and play sports in my huge backyard. When it turned to the Fall season, I would adventure up to Boyd Orchard to go pumpkin patching, ride train hay rides, and feed the farm animals. I would also run through tall corn mazes, ride horses and drink apple cider along with jumping in a huge pile of colorful leaves. In Winter, I would go run in the polar-white snow, build forts, create snowmen, and drink hot cocoa by the warm crackling fireplace. Although the regular four seasons are quite nice, there is a fifth season which is the hunting season. People in Kentucky get all hyped up for this season. Whether we use guns or archers, nets or poles, if we go alone or take the dogs, it's all fair game during the season. As a child, I would visit my uncle just to go fishing. We would go out on the boat or sit by the lake with our fishing rods. Usually, we would catch and release fish, but when it's the hunting season, we would sometimes keep the fish, bring it home, cook it up, and eat it. Hunting animals, I personally wasn't allowed to go out as a child. Though my neighbors would go hunting for animals and sometimes bring the deer, rabbit, turkey, or whatever it was they killed, take it home, and cook it up as well. They would invite us to their house for dinner sometimes to taste that grilled deer or fried rabbit.
Hunting season isn't just a season, but it can also be considered a sport. In fact, sports are like a religion in Kentucky. Whether it's basketball or football. The Kentucky Wildcats are in heaven when they win, but when they lose to the Louisville Cardinals, it is utter chaos, anger, and sadness. As a child, I would be dressed in blue...
