This romantic tale outlines the battle between reason and love. Both try to trigger the destruction of the other, but when love is in the position to take control, there was always the insight of reason that prevents Lancelot from doing what he desired. Love forces him to take a different route, while reason provides logicality behind the decisions and action made by him. Love is the allure, the affection, that Lancelot holds for Gweneviere and his emotions feelings for her have a way of pushing his reason to the side when it comes to making decisions. With these two elements being the foundation of Lancelot's journey through out the story, both created a path in which Lancelot followed. Lancelot was depicted as a man who was less logical because he was so in love, willing to do anything for the source of his passion, Gweneviere. However, despite being reasonable and in love, Lancelot is also brave, obedient and loyal. Lancelot was tested at distinct moments throughput his quest, and with the passing of each one, he remains loyal to his queen.
One particular scene that I will to try to recreate with my words would be the scene in which Lancelot is needing a place to stay for the night and a young woman tried to convince him that by him being able to obtain shelter through her, he would have to give himself to her in a manner of sexual expression. Lancelot, of course, denied her advances and when she appeared before him bare of clothing, he disregarded her.
