Letter To Future PLP Students - Letter

949 words - 4 pages

Dear, Future PLP students, I am writing this letter in regards of informing you about what PLP, SACE, and others are, how they help you and why it is required of you to do and pass this subject in this letter.
SACE stands for South Australian Certificate of Education, it is a qualification for entry into universities and further training. SACE is internationally recognized, it teaches and gives skills for work, training, and further study. The SACE is made up of two parts: - Stage 1 (which most students do in Year 11) and Stage 2 (which most students do in Year 12). You need to get 200 credits to achieve the SACE, you can do this through a mixture of compulsory and free-choice subjects and courses. SACE starts in Year 11 at Stage 1, you can choose from a different variety of Stage 1 subjects offered at your school, you can also take vocational education and training or (VET) courses and other options. In Stage 1, all your assessment tasks (reports, essays, letters, etc. ) will be marked by your PLP teachers at your school. Stage 2 of SACE, you choose your subjects and courses from those offered at your school.

In Stage 2, your assessment is divided into two parts. Internal - 70% of your assessment tasks (reports, tests, presentations, etc. ) will be marked by the teachers at your school and checked by external moderators. This ensures that marking is consistent across all schools. External - the remaining 30% will be assessed outside your school. These assessments are the exams, performances and the investigations. There is one compulsory subject in Year 12 which you will have to take, the Research Project. It is a one-semester subject that gives you the chance to do a research on a topic of your choice.

The Personal Learning Plan (PLP) is a compulsory subject that students need to pass in order to gain their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). A personal learning plan or PLP is a subject for students to take, PLP is a way to help students achieve short and long-term learning goals and others as well, most commonly done in high school at year 10. Personal learning plans are based on the belief that students will be more motivated to learn, will achieve more in school and will have a better understanding of what they want to become after they graduate and have a feeling of ownership over their education if they are clear on what they want to learn, how they are going to learn it and why they need to learn it to achieve their personal goals.

Capabilities are an important part in PLP as you are required to know what they are and why you need them. Capabilities are an integrated and interconnected set of knowled...
