The question that I have chosen to ask is: If we are not alone, who else lives in our galaxy? The reason why I have chosen to ask such a question is that we have already come into contact with one Extra Terrestrial Intelligent civilization in this situation, and if that is the case, there could be more out there. We must be able to find out if there are any other ETI civilizations in our galaxy and determine whether or not they pose a threat to our society. In addition, we can learn from such civilizations, as surely they are more advanced and older than ours. The ramifications that a civilization could have for Earth could be through political, security, religious and economic means, as they could potentially take over our system and install theirs (Korhonen, 2013). Or one may say it would potentially have good ramifications as their system of governance could be more advanced and better than the one we have in place (Almar, 499). Also, they could potentially help us with global warming if they have systems in place that protect their society from such hazardous impacts. Knowing whether there are more ETI civilizations out there would prepare us so that we know what to expect, and we can advance our knowledge of technology and space (Williams, 2017)....
