Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates…Or Is It?

631 words - 3 pages

Is life really like a box of chocolates? In my case, life isn't sweet all of the time. Do you ever find yourself overcome by stress? 75 percent of the general population experiences at least "some stress" every two weeks. This is a proven fact from the National Health Interview Survey. Stress in my life brings me to the point of being angry constantly over everyday situations. These situations may not be big, because it doesn't take much to push me to the edge. My daily activities keep me very busy. Keeping a steady girlfriend while playing football, and also maintaining a weekend job drives me as far as I can go. A person can only do so much. Even though stress can drive you to a level of insanity, I can still handle the load and remain on top. ...view middle of the document...

" I know that I will be with Katie for the rest of my life, so I know that when I have opportunities that I want to take up, I do so. Football is a prime example of an opportunity that I have taken upon. I strive to do my best in everything that I do in life. This sport requires time and effort. Time is something that I don't always have, and which this sport requires. Effort is something that I contain in everything that I do. Along with time and effort, comes stress. Stress to me can be relieved by putting my all in all into the sport that I am participating in. Even though the time and effort that I put into football can be stressful, I can relieve my stress by pushing myself to my physical abilities. Jobs are everyone's worst nightmare, but you've got to have them. Jobs to me are the number one stress creator to the American public. Even though I only have a weekend job, it isn't easy at all. My job hours can run very long. The only reason I take on this job is to make gas money for my car. Sometimes I have other obligations besides work, but I have to be there if I want to drive. This stresses me because it takes my time away from my other serious obligations. Thank goodness this is only a weekend job, because if it wasn't, I don't know how I could handle it. Keeping a steady girlfriend, playing football, and having a job on the weekend may be hard to maintain a stress free mind. I feel that I can be stressed by not getting enough time to see my girlfriend. Being part of the football team also consumes time, but I have chosen to take on this particular responsibility. Having a job is by far the most interference towards my teenage life, but I am required to be there if I want to make money. Life isn't like a box of chocolates in my life; it is more like a box of stress.
