The fight for power among leaders can be a complex course of action. Sometimes a book can help us understand the situation better by presenting an allegorical story. Consequently, The book, "Lord of the Flies" illustrates the struggle for power between a civilized person and a savage as Ralph the protagonist of the story leads the groups of young boys with a democratic system, however Jack who is the antagonist of the story, eventually takes over Ralph's leadership by prioritizing savage behavior. Then later on in the story Jack has stolen most of Ralph's power and showed his truth intentions by forming a tribe. This clearly shows that Ralph and Jack's intentions are different.Next, Ralph and Jack's characteristic are directly the opposite as one represents civilization and the other savagery. To start things off, it is quite obvious that Ralph shows the characteristics of a democratic leader. He accepts opinions from Piggy, make decisions, and treats everyone fairly. He did this by emphasizing the importance of the fire and treated the littluns with care instead of bullying them. But what's more is that he is sensible. He was able to show this because he was morally obliged to piggy as a friend. For instance, when they were visiting Jack at the Castle Rock, he told Piggy to lie down while he was confronting Jack. When the fear of the beast arouse among the littluns he tried to calm the idea by saying that it was all just a dream and nothing like that would ever exist. This quiet the fear a little bit. One particular characteristic of Ralph would be his responsibility as a leader. He showed this in a lot of situations. For instance, he beat up a boy for no particular reason at the castle rock. It was completely for pleasure and the sadist aspect of his characteristic. Second, he has no control over his power when he killed Simon in the dance. After that, he uses the power of the beast to control the boys. He protests that the beast is something they can't kill and it may be back any time soon. The tribe is turning into a religious group instead of following a democratic system. As a result, Jack's overpowered Ralph. The last reason of Ralph and Jack's repugnance is that they have different priorities.
