Usually a development plan is done by a supervisor to help the employee improve and advance in the organization. Each development plan caters to a specific person. Knowledge, education, and experience make each development plan different. In the military there is a system that manages each person's Professional Development courses. Completing each stage allows you to advance in your career.
Strengths
University of Phoenix has allowed me to pursue my education while I can stay at home with my kids. Before UOPX I had left my civilian education on hold for more than 10 years. Obtaining my degree allows me to become competitive in the work force. I am about to finish my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. This has been my goal for many years and finally it is becoming a reality. Human Resources is the field that I want to be in. On my military side I have completed all of my Professional Development courses for my rank. I strive to keep knowledgeable and current to gain the respect and confidence of my seniors and peers. I am not fearful of gaining responsibilities. I enjoy to learn from others and respect others opinions. My peers and supervisors see me as a responsible, caring, and trustworthy person.
Weaknesses
Staying at home with my kids has been a very satisfying chapter of my life. For my career on the other hand, having a work gap sets me back and makes me have a disadvantage with other professionals. I have no work experience in the HR field. This makes it more difficult for me. Searching for jobs, I have seen that experience is weighed in conjunction with work experience. In the military side I recently got promoted, but I have not done this type of job. This is a disadvantage for me because I have to supervise Soldiers that have done this job for many yea...
