El ciclo de vida del proyecto se refiere a una secuencia de actividades que contribuyen a la realización con éxito de un proyecto iniciado que mejora las funciones de una organización, las cuatro fases básicas del ciclo de vida del proyecto incluyen, la fase de iniciación, la fase de planificación, fase de ejecución, y por último el cierre de fase. La primera fase se ha completado antes de la fase de planificación, en la fase de iniciación el gerente de la organización se sienta con los ejecutivos, y el equipo que estará trabajando en el proyecto por completo, en la reunión del equipo del proyecto serán discutidos los objetivos del proyecto, se establecen la línea de tiempo de ejecución, y se discuten cómo se resolverán los problemas que puedan surgir.La segunda fase, que es la fase más importante, es la fase de planificación. De acuerdo a Kerzner (2006) el objetivo principal en la planificación de un proyecto es definir por completo todos los aspectos del proyecto para que el equipo de gestión pueda desarrollar un programa de proyecto documentado, para que todos los participantes del proyecto comprendan qué propósito servirá durante toda la duración del mismo. La fase de planificación también incluye un análisis de riesgo del proyecto y la identificación de los interesados en el para el proyecto de actualización.La tercera fase del ciclo de vida del proyecto es la fase de ejecución, en dicha fase a los participantes del mismo se les ejecutarán las tareas asignadas por el director del proyecto, durante la fase de ejecución el director del proyecto analizara el rendimiento que cree la determinación de las desviaciones entre lo que era de hecho previsto frente a lo que está realmente en el progreso, junto con la financiación y el calendario.La fase de ejecución también es una fase importante debido al hecho de que los errores de planificación son generalmente detectados durante esta fase, lo que da una explicación válida de que la fase de ejecución lleva la mayor duración de todas las fases del ciclo de vida del proyecto.La fase final del ciclo de vida del proyecto se llama la fase de cierre, el director del proyecto se asegurará de que el proyecto se ha completado mediante la verificación de que los objetivos establecidos durante las dos primeras fases del ciclo de vida del proyecto son completados, después de la verificación del estado final el supervisor procesa un informe final de proyectos formales para...
