Abortion.
For over two centuries, abortion has been an on-going conflict worldwide. Abortion is one of those things that everyone is going to have a strong opinion on. Abortion is the intentional termination of a pregnancy after conception which allows women to end their pregnancies, but involves killing the undeveloped embryo and fetus (Head). There have been many factors that have help fuel the debate on wheter if abortion should or shouldn't be allowed, such as social and economic factors. Therefore abortion, has always been and will probably always be one very controversial topic that everyone's not going to agree on.
There are two different groups of people that do or do not support abortion. These two groups are pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life supporters believe that all life is quantitatively equal in dignity and value, whether they are a newly conceived life or at the end of life (Theamericancatholic). These supporters believe that life begins at conception, so, to this group of supporter's abortion is murder at any stage in the pregnancy. Por-life supporters believe that all life is valuable and an unborn baby has the same rights as its mother (Theamericancatholic). Now from the other point of view, pro-choice supporters believe that woman have the right to choose to abort a baby from their body (Pro-Choice Abortion). The advocates for pro-life and pro-choice differ on many of their opinions, they specifically focus on the concerning of when life begins, the different affects abortion could have on the mother, and how your religion plays a role in your choice.

The surgeries for an abortion were very dangerous back then. So according to the National Abortion Federation, abortion got made into a "physicians-only" practice because they could be performed legally in order to save a mother's life (Natabortionfed). In 1973, abortion was made legal due to a Supreme court decision in the Roe vs Wade ruling here in the United States (OBOS Abortion Contributors). That ruling said that "Americans right to privacy included the right of a woman to decide whether to have children, and the right of a woman and her doctor to make that decision without state interference"(Linder).
