One November evening, I was at my friend's house, working on my science project. I had promised my grandpa that I would be home before five thirty, but I lost track of time. By the time I had left her house, it was already five twenty-seven. The sun was setting, painting the sky with an array of pink, orange and yellow, the clouds heavy with silver linings and the pale glow of the moon was beginning to show. I should probably hurry home before my grandpa starts getting worried.
As I was walking home, I passed by a house which had a 2 feet long, unleashed Rottweiler sleeping on the porch. He was big and growled while he slept. I licked my dry lip as I glanced at the Rottweiler, remembering something that my grandpa once told me when I was seven. My leg stiffened and I crossed my arms tightly across my chest. I looked straight at the road ahead of me and picked up my speed of walking.
After a minute, just as my body was about to relax, I felt someone or something staring at
me. My body immediately tenses up again and turns rigid. I furrowed my eyebrows and slowly turned around and saw the Rottweiler that was sleeping before, standing in the middle of the street lane, staring straight at me. When I accidentally made eye contact with it, my heart started pounding at an increasingly rapid pace. We watched each other intently, never blinking once at all.
