Smokeless tobacco is bad for your heath; and it can cause cancer in your mouth. There are many people using it and there are many unwanted side effects that can show up unexpectedly. Sean Marsee was on of those persons that smokeless tobacco affected his life.Smokeless tobacco is a time bomb for the mouth, and there are more and more people using smokeless tobacco products every year. For example, each year we have about 29,000 new cases of oral cancer and 9,000 deaths in this country. When you turn on the T.V. or go to the store and see an ad for any kind of smokeless tobacco, i.e. snuff, chew, or dip, there are no warning labels on the package. At this rate there will be more and more cases of mouth related cancer because of smokeless tobacco, if no one gets out there and talks about it. There are more and more people using smokeless tobacco products, smokeless tobacco is a time bomb for the mouth and it could go off any time.There are many effects of smokeless tobacco on the human body, and how you can help prevent repetitions of the tragedy that Sean Marsee had to suffer. Smokeless tobacco can cause cancer in the mouth and/or in the esophagus. Sean had to have most of his tong removed because the red spot with its hard white core and was the size of a half-dollar; the cancer was moving through his tong and mouth. Later, Sean had to have his lower jawbone removed, because the cancer had spread down to the bone. Further more, representatives of the American Cancer Societies, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Dental Association, the U.S. Addiction Research Centers and the Centers for Diseases Control joined researchers from the National Cancer Institute in condemning the practice of dipping. Find out if your state is one of the twenty-six that prohibits the sale of snuff and chewing tobacco to minors. If it does not, ask your state legislators why. If it does, try to determine if the law is being enforced. Make sure that your piers read this about what happened to Sean Marsee. Insist that your local school system educate the student body about the dangers of dipping. Help prevent the same effects that happened to Sean Marsee, and tell the effects of smokeless tobacco on the human body.
