Living in Mesopotamia, Hammurabi appears to be superior compared to Egypt of the Pharaohs. Each civilization has its benefits and its weaknesses. Although it seems that Egyptians had science, technology, and a steady supply of food, they a significant issue with their civilization. They had too many people. More people means more theft and goods stolen. Also, there appears to be no form of justice. Mesopotamia is a civilization that has a decent population and a series of codes made by Hammurabi to punish evil-doers. Mesopotamia had a population of 50 000 to 60 000 people. Their population is smaller compared to Ancient Egypt's. Ancient Egypt had a population of 200 000. Humans would have to work many arduous months to make food and then trade some of it to get other supplies they needed. Then some people considered stealing the goods they needed instead of trading for them. With a bigger population, there is the chance of having more mischievous souls and thefts because they could get away with it since the city is busy with folks. On the other hand, Mesopotamia has a city size that is big enough to support an excellent economy while being small enough to control and track thieves. Although my opinion supports living in Mesopotamia, there are others who disagree with my view. Dyuthi, a classmate in Block 3/4, says, "Mesopotamia has unpredictable flooding, whereas Egypt has consistently predictable floods". But the Mesopotamians were innovative.
