1.Executive summary
The objective of this case study is to analyze and understand the role of project manager in the
formation of project organization structure and project specific team through the effective
leadership roles required to complete a medium scale luxury housing project built for international
clients in the global business district of national capital region of India. The roles are studied against
the theoretical framework using established principals of project management practice and their
adaption in the varied typology of projects. The paper talks about the landscape of a developing
country, where most of the company’s and consultants are accustomed to traditional practices of
construction project management which is similar for every project, whether success or a fail.
The selected project addresses the challenges faced by the project managers such as the issue of
active involvement and interference of the stakeholders in the mid-scale project and the adaptive
team structures that have been established to mitigate the communication challenges.
