Math 104 Fall Final 2017
Global Terrorism is a documented problem the World is dealing with. In the elementary Statistics course we conducted an experiment examining the correlation of multiple aspects to why there has been a rise in terrorism in certain decades. We posed the question “Are there patterns in terrorism across the world through the past several decades?”.
Upshot.
At first glance, we acknowledged that there is a dramatic spike in 2001 with terrorism along with 1985. We see that 2015 the graph is still rising with terrorism and from 2001 after 911 to now there was a steady decline in terrorism in America. The key patterned noticed with the first and second graph is the spikes we see in the graphs are broken down and explain the terror event that took place. We see in the final graph many Middle Eastern countries and African countries deal with terrorism on a larger scale. At the lower right corner of the third graph you can see a slight rise in terrorism in America and Western Europe. The graphs are all connected with each terror event that has taken place a decline in terrorism will occur for some time before an event will take place. Before 2001 there was a pattern to which every 5 years a major event would take place and claim many lives. We see in graph 2 in America they’re not many terrorist attacks but in 1995 and 2001 and 2015. The final graph easily displays while other countries are dealing with terrorism on a larger scale Western Europe and America are slowly but surely rising with deadly attacks as well.
