1. Give a full description of the art piece. Imagine you are explaining the piece to someone who is cant see it. This should be really thorough. Explain colors, images in the background, images in the foreground, the mood of the art piece, etc.
This painting is painted by a famous artist that was born in Italy. His name is Leonardo Da Vinci. The painting is a woman sitting down. The woman is barely grinning, and it looks to be land, with trails, mountains, and a body of water is in the background. The sitters mysterious smile and her unproven identity have made the painting a source of ongoing investigation and fascination. (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica; Paragraph 1 Sentence 3.) The woman is a famous model named Lisa del Giocondo, who was also born in Italy. I have seen the painting in real life, and the painting is a lot smaller than it seems in pictures. The colors arent very vibrant, but the shading brings out the painting the most. When you look at the painting it looks as if there is a filter on the painting, or the painting is just old.

2. When you first look at the art piece, what sticks out the most?
Leonardo Da Vinci seemed to have painted the Model in front of a painting. I say this because there is a slight shadow of the model as if she is in front of a wall. You can see this shadow most where her hair is on the top left.
a. Why does this stick out? This sticks out to me because it is cool that Leonardo Da Vinci incorporated another piece of art in a piece of art.
b. Why might the artist want this to stick out? The artist might have wanted this to stick out so that the model wasnt the only thing in the picture. He wanted more life added to the painting and realism.

3. What do you think the meaning of the painting is? I think the meaning of the picture is to make the painting a type of mystery. It could also just be a portrait.

4. What is the tone of the painting (emotions revealed)? The painting is very mixed emotional. This is true because the mix of the models grin and the dark shading in the land, with very little bright and vibrant colors. This can make the aesthete have a confused and difficult time understanding the painting.

5. Do you like this piece of art? Why or Why not? I like this painting only because the painter truly knows what the painting reveals. Its a guessing game for everyone else, and theories upon theories are the result because the painting doesnt have a description.
