There are many different reasons why people in today's society fall into the trap of drug use. Some may turn to drugs for the comfort in a lonely time in their life. Others may try drug because the people around them use drugs and the peer pressure gets to them. I think this is the case for most of my peers in college who haven't done drugs before. They are forced into a new environment, that is college, and now they use drugs because there new friends do them. Some people get addicted to drugs on accident, for instance a football may be in a situation where they are in a lot of pain from strain from the physical sport that they participate in and they may start taking pain killers ...view middle of the document...

Drugs can also cause failed relationships with a married couple or for instance, if the person is on the younger side, there relationship could fail with there parents. When a person is addicted to a drug it has a kind of psychological effect on that persons mind. They feel like they need the drug and the people that love them sees that it is bad thing for them and some people think that there is nothing wrong and refuse to seek help. When this happens the wife or parents often give the drug user an ultimatum of choosing the drugs or them. This causes a problem and what often happens is the drug user keeps using the drugs, the wife or parents gets fed up with it and they cut of the person who is using the drugs from any type of relationship with them.Drugs can also cause some financial problems too. Say a person is addicted to prescription drug or steroids. Theses drugs are very expensive and if you are addicted to them they may cause a financial strain on you. Another expensive drug is cocaine. Theses drugs are white collar drugs, with the exception of cocaine and a lot of times they are used by business men or athletes. But even in a situation where you are financially stable, if you become too involved with a drug it may not break you but it could put you in some serious debt. I recall a big named radio host was addicted to prescriptions drugs earlier this year, his name was Len Bach. He got suspended from work and was forced to enroll in a drug rehab center.
