As life continues to come and go, people live in this world in extraordinary ways. As humans, people have distinctive ways of living their life as people are all different from one another. However, most people live in a certain negative way; although they might not see the problems, others around them do. That's why Steve Cutt's illustration revolves around the modern society that people live in. The sole purpose of this visual drawing is to bring awareness to an unhealthy way of living that then leads to negatively impacting people's lives by affecting their health, finance, and lifestyle.
First and foremost, look at the person that is supposed to be depicted in the drawing. He does not look healthy at all and it is attainable from the illustration that an obese man is supposed to be interpreted in the picture; instead, his body is weirdly morphing with the couch as he becomes one with it. Most of his body parts are non-existent expressed in the illustration and by seeing the expression on his face; he looks to be in pain. Analyzing the picture deeper, it seems that his hands are holding onto two objects and it is rather obvious that his hands are non-existent at this point as they have merged with the two objects just like the rest of his body. Moreover, he has an IV (Intravenous Therapy) connected to his mutated arm and an energy drink has been attached to it which creates a feeling that his body consists of sugary drinks instead of blood inside of him. Also, there are medicines, and by the looks of it, there are several upon several medicines expressing that he needs them to maintain steady health, and without them, he will not survive.
Secondly, an unhealthy way of life can also affect people financially. Based on the picture there are branded food names in the back such as burgers, fries, and chickens that are connected to pipes and spewing out, symbolizing that the man throws all his money away on those name-branded foods.
