The reason why so many give such little attention to the background of the Negro is the belief that this study is unimportant and very irrelevant. Negros basically have their own class due to how they were treated and still are being treated but it is not as bad now than it was before. The Negros were put down and treated so badly they started to hate themselves because no one liked them which caused them to hate themselves for being Negro. Also the Negros hated themselves because they felt that they were the curse race and had no values in the world, meaning they felt like they were useless. None of them wanted to stand up and try to make a change because they were either scared or just knew it wouldn't work out, but there were maybe one tenth that tried but were put down by their own people. They were treated as creatures and still now they still are, maybe not physically but mentally. A person can't blame the Negro for thinking of him as a creature that the oppressor has represented to the Negro to be. The Negro is just as human as the other members of the family of mankind. The Negro has been up at times and at times has been down.
