“Killing Us Softly 4,” was produced by no other than Mrs. Jean Kilbourne. With previously successful films such as; “Killing Us Softy’s numbers 1, 2, and 3,” already turning heads, it is no surprise that a follow up film would continue to make noise. Although most of the information in these films may seem to be going over old information in a similar fashion like those before them boring and dull which, is that is definitely not the case here. Most of the previous films seems to almost always be focusing on gender and race inequality in America. Though that is a part of the films motive that is not the only method Kilbourne decided to take. Moreover, Kilbourne has found a unique way that not only shine light on a sensitive subject but she has also created a way to speak out against some shared concerns in such, a way that all races, age groups, and genders would stop to actually process the information.

In the film Kilbourne talks about women being turned from a “Subject,” to an “Object” and the dangers this has caused. Through her encounters over thirty years of research she has gone through great efforts to give crisp details and explains the process form taking a subject such as, a women and objectifying her and ultimately dehumanizing her. She states, “We all grow up in a culture in which women’s bodies are constantly turned into things and objects, here’s she’s become the bottle of Michelob.” The main point was to show how there has been a long-lasting need to please men by degrading women for a long time. It has been achieved through the “Method” of objectifying women. Men are the sole investment for advertising ads and there is an unequal balance of sexism between men and women on how the media and advertisements portray them. This has gone unnoticed and uncontested as to what is truly going on which, was designed to be suggestive and not by mistake Kilbourne points out as her evidence through her repetitive clips collected over many years. It has been the history of humanity allowance that will make this method of objectification become more and more harmful. Women are continuously made to look like a damsel in distress and men are made to be women’s hero. Even when men are the ones who victimize women and in some cases k...
