Il existe des piles sèches, comme celles que vous utilisez dans votre appareil photo. Une pile sèche est normalement une petite canette de métal remplie d’une pâte de produits chimiques. L’électrolyte contient des produits chimiques qui vont réagir avec les électrodes faites de métal pour former des ions. Ces ions peuvent se déplacer dans l’électrolyte pour se rendre d’une électrode à une autre et ainsi produire un courant continu de charges électriques.
Il existe aussi des piles humides, comme celle dans les voitures. Son électrolyte est un liquide et peut donc se renverser si elle n’est pas manipulée avec soin. Les piles humides sont fabriquées selon le même principe que les piles sèches. C’est tellement facile que vous allez en fabriquer quelques unes ici même, en classe.
