                                                                          Work Is Stressful
I have come to a conclusion that work is very stressful. Working the third shift at Walmart can be very overwhelming. For example, it was December 15, 2017, my last night working before my flight to New York the following afternoon.
It was around 10:12 PM on December 15, 2017, I was twelve minutes late to work at that moment I already knew it was going to be a bad day. I went and got seven shopping carts as I usually do to separate all the returns that I would be putting back that night when my manager comes up to me and say “ Andrew can you please get on a register the line is getting longer and longer by the minute”, when I looked over the line was actually wrapped around twice due to last minute Christmas shopping. My very first customer comes with literally four carts full of toys and groceries. They had an estimate of 150 toys but they were repeated. For example, they had twenty connect four games and another twenty monopoly board games. As I am ringing all these items up I see that they take their card out and it is taped together so I already knew that this transaction was going to be a hassle. Moving forward, I finally finish scanning all of their items so now it is time to pay. The customer tells me “debit”, as soon as he put the chip in the machine it said “beep beep” indicating that it did not work. I then said “you can try again” he tries again and it doesn’t work. The last resort is I can type his debit card numbers in if he has his license with him. Surprisingly he did so I type his card numbers in and his I.D. numbers into my register and it turns out that he did not have enough money on the card for his transaction which was a total off $742.26. I proceeded to tell him what my register said and he started to argue me down then started throwing all the toys around the store. I called my manager on my walkie and said “please come to my register ASAP” it just so happened that a police officer was coming in and he saw the confrontation and escorted the man outside I then knew that this was not going to be my night.
It is now around 1:32 AM and I am heading to my lunch break. At this time only self-checkout registers are open because we don’t have enough...
