World War II’s Greatest Loss
World War II, the war between the Axis and the Allies, beginning on September 1, 1939, with the German invasion of Poland and ending with the surrender of Germany on May 8, 1945, and of Japan on August 14, 1945. During those times, people decided that it would be okay to reduce the value of life of a certain group of people known as Jews, cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism and who trace their origins through the ancient Hebrew people of Israel to Abraham. Not only that but when the Nazis decided to start killing the Jews and the only way to escape death was to emigrate, America decided that Jews were lesser humans and did not want any in their country. But Germany wasn’t the only country that mistreated innocent people, Japan is also responsible for mistreating Chinese when they invaded, also known as the Asian Holocaust. World War II’s Greatest loss was the loss of morality and overall humanity.
The Nazis and the way they treated Jews and other non-Aryans was horrible and morally wrong. To give some background, Hitler saw the Aryan race is the perfect race. An Aryan is an Indo-European who has the common characteristics of blonde hair and blue eyes. In the “Testimony at Nuremberg by Rudolf Hoess”, it talks about how 2,500,000 people were executed by gassing and burning. If you did not fit the characteristics of an Aryan or you could not do work, you were killed. This is morally wrong because the Nazis had the Jews do all the dirty work and kill their own kind. Forcing a person to kill another person they see as a “brother or sister in God’s eyes”, is morally unacceptable. Not only do they have to hide their religion, they had to kill someone of the same religion for publicly showing their faith. In the same testimony, it talked about how it took about 3 to 15 minutes for the people in the gassing chamber to die and once the bodies were taken out, they would take the gold teeth and rings off...
