The controversy of gun violence in america is in an all time high, things like school shootings and other mass shootings are making everyday citizens scared to even send their children to school. In order to change and better this country the government has options it can install in order to help the citizens feel safer, such as creating a large federal database that tracks all guns that are being purchased and also keep records of the person purchasing these weapons. That database can then flag citizens who either have not followed the rules in order to purchase the weapon or have a history of mental illnesses making it easier for their monitorization.

As mass shootings like the one in Parkland, Florida and the recent Synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania become more relevant in the media, the topic of gun violence and solutions to the problem always surface. Many of the solutions to help reduce gun violence proposed by liberals have been shown to be ineffective and infringe on the American people’s right to bear arms. In contrast, the conservative stance on gun violence keeps guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens and supports laws that will reduce gun violence without hindering citizen’s second amendment

Gun Control has been a big controversial issue to many American citizens. “American have the right and advantage to bear arms-unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments who are afraid to trust the people with arms ” said James Madison, which is the fourth president of the United States. This means they have the right to self protect themselves even though it's a gun. With the second amendment, citizens have the right to bear arms, but does it let all citizens have the right to protect themselves? There were many debates about whether they should have gun control or not. Gun Control became a new trend around America. You probably know, guns are violence to society and cause

themselves. The right guaranteed by the Second Amendment should not be taken away from U.S. citizens.
There is a multitude of organizations of both sides of the argument that advocate for what they believe. At one end of the spectrum, you have the National Rifle Association (NRA) who advocates for gun rights. On the other end, groups such as the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) and Handgun Control, Inc. seek to make firearms only accessible to law enforcement and military personnel. There are also moderates on the issue such as the American Firearms Association, who compromise on the issue regarding our rights.
The NRA is perhaps the most well known of these organizations in support of

the most common reason for owning a firearm" (“Gun Control”). Shooting a gun is something a family can do together and this time spent with each other will help build relationships. With proper supervision anyone can be taught gun safety and how to properly use a gun. Learning this information increases personal responsibility and builds self-confidence. These are two areas in society today that could use improvement. So the time spent building relationships and self-confidence can only be beneficial to society.
Protection is another major reason about half of all Americans own a gun (Lester 30). Throughout history, violence in some form has always been present. And criminals have, and

Guns can help deter crime, for example if someone wanted to rob someone else and they
realized they had a gun, they are probably less likely to rob them. On the flip side, it may also
create more violence because the burglar might get a gun of his own. Banning high capacity
magazines would also help with protecting people from mass shootings, because they can't shoot

gun violence.
Gun supporters often cite the Second Amendment in the Constitution as their right to own as many guns as they want. They use the Second Amendment to claim America was founded with the basis for citizens owning guns as the wish of the founding fathers. Although the U.S. Constitution gives Americans the right to own guns, gun supporters are taking the meaning of the law out of context. The law was written over two hundred years ago during a revolutionary time when America was fighting for Independence against the English king. The founding fathers added this Amendment into the Constitution as a protection for American colonies to be able to call up the colonist to use weapons and

America Needs Better Gun Control
On average there is more than one mass shooting every day in America. This is horrendous, shocking and completely out of order. Gun violence is a growing issue in America and little is being done to resolve it. Imagine you were eating at a restaurant, going for a walk at the beach or even sitting in class while anyone near you could be carrying a loaded gun, would this make you nervous? It surely would make me very on edge. However this is completely normal for Americans as their government gives citizens the right to own and carry guns. This is ridiculous, handguns need so much more control because their only purpose is to kill people! Out of all the

stopping racialized gun violence.
Larry Womack of the Huffington Post says,
“Black Americans are more than twice as likely to be killed by firearms than white ones. Did you know that? Twice as likely. Implicit in every discussion of gun violence is our relative willingness to let black people die. Of course, the factors that protesters have been highlighting at Sanders events also play an important role. Implied bias and conscious bigotry fueled by cultural and institutional racism are certainly factors when Americans decide who is and is not a threat worth shooting. And those problems absolutely need to be addressed. But people wouldn't have such an easy time killing black Americans if they

bear arms. In an era in which the paradox of seeking to reduce violence exists along with the phenomenal growth of gun ownership, three questions are apparent. First, what is spurring the interest in guns? Secondly, what is being done by Federal, State, and Local authorities to strike the right balance between constitutionality and common sense? Lastly, what is the trend for the future of gun control in the United States? Can guns and people sensibly coexist?
What has brought about the current explosion of gun purchasing and ownership? Some would say that the doomsday mentality of the post 9/11 America has had the effect of inspiring an inherent distrust of the government and a loss of faith in

a bill written by former President Barack Obama. This bill not only raised awareness to mental health in America, it also made it harder for people who are mentally ill to purchase a gun. This also included a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover. (Mental Health and Gun Violence) It was evident that the awareness of mental health in America was too low. This claim is further backed by Pamela S. Hyde, an administrator for the government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, on the same article. She states that “Of the 45 million U.S. adults suffering from mental illness, only 38.5 percent receive

The Banning of Guns I am doing my report on the banning of guns in the United Stated of America. I do no think that guns should be banned from the Untied States of America because there is one reason they would be banned for, people shooting one another. But guns are not only used for killing people, they are used for many other things too. People use them for hunting. People would no longer be able to hunt if guns are banned. They are used for hunting deer, birds, or any other animals that are hunted. " About three/fourths of all U.S.homes own at least one gun. The top reason for gun ownership are protecting the home, hunting, and target shooting. Gun violence is a

others who bear arms. Analysis by the Violence Policy Center has found that at least 29 mass shootings in the US since 2007 were carried out by perpetrators with concealed carry permits. That’s more than three times the number of concealed permit holders who prevented mass shootings through their swift action. A Washington Post analysis of Federal Bureau of Investigation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data found that, for every “justifiable” gun homicide in 2012, there were 34 criminal gun homicides, 78 gun suicides, and at least two accidental gun deaths. Similarly, a 2014 study from the University of California–San Francisco found that people who owned a gun were three times as

There have been many gun-related crimes in America especially in recent years, anti-gun activists protest that current gun legislations are inefficient and insufficient in preventing gun violence while on the opposite spectrum, many gun activists are quick to defend their constitutional right to bear arms and deny any claims that gun control will further prevent gun violence. It raises some questions, are guns the main attributing factor? Or is it

resource officer would about guns. Just imagine a person who never touched, hold, or even fire a gun before, operating a gun under a heated situation. That would be pretty chaotic, so many people would be in danger, but politicians aren’t even thinking about that.
Furthermore, just because someone is capable of Carrying a firearm doesn’t mean they're solving a problem with it. Adding guns to the situation is ludicrous, why add more fire to the flames. I’m pretty sure teachers carrying guns isn’t going to help the gun violence in school, as a matter of fact it’s putting innocent Millennials in danger. That’s basically like having a shoot out in all schools across the country. Instead of guns

“Guns don't kill people, people kill people” that is the quote from
the National Rifle Association.
So, what is the real problem with guns in the United States You
know many people through history have used guns for good and
bad things but recently a surprising number of people think that
banning guns is a good idea. They think that it will rid America of
gun violence but this isn't very good reasoning. The reasoning
behind banning guns basically is if guns can't be purchased or sold
and nobody can legally possess a firearm gun violence will not
happen, right, Wrong, bad people will always find ways to get
weapons for their bad deeds.
Banning guns just because they have an ability to kill
