The United States is a founding of nations amongst nations. Although we experienced our
time of inequity, immigrants from all over the country represent every ethnicity group and
nationally all across the globe. Civilians from all over contributed ideas and the overall
population of the American society today. “America tries giving back by sharing how important
that values of democracy, freedom, and human rights are.” (Vietnam HD) Although many
thought there was absolutely no reason to go to war in Vietnam, freeing another nation from
negative ideas is the one reason that made this war justifiable within the American eyes. The
Americans were fighting for the defensive freedom of Asia. Although there were no clear cut
advantages, the Americans were fighting in fear of the domino effect happening which would
cause all countries to instill there selves with values that brought extreme negativity to our world.
A Vietnam war veteran once said, “After Vietnam, America is no longer the America it was.”
The war started because the Americans saw how communist North Korea invaded South Korea.
The Americans believed that communism spreading through Europe could not happen. “This war
was a fight for liberty against a Godless monolithic communist plot to enslave the world.”
Going into the war wasn’t what created the distrust between the American government and the
American people, it was the way the American government approached the war and the actions
they took while in Vietnam. The events and actions the US took during the Vietnam war created
an atmosphere of distrust between the public and the government because by televising the war it
allowed us to see first hand that the war at Vietnam was not worth it and the constant change of
the foreign policy allowed the Americans to believe that there was no actual concrete plan in
fighting this war.
The Vietnam war being televised caused major distrust between the American
government and the American society. The Vietnam War was the first televised war and it that
had negative consequences for the Americans. The role of the media played a significant role in
the shifts of opinion in the Vietnam war. During the beginning of the war, the US was not
interested in covering stories out of Vietnam, but after the deaths of so many the US began
taking heavy interest. The Vietnam war being televised brought horror and exhaustion to our
country. “The contrast between images being brought into living rooms and optimistic deaths
raged serious doubts amongst them American people.” (Vietnam HD) The American society saw
at first hand American soldiers dying in combat and no one really even knew why. Change was
taken because the media displayed what was going on throughout the war. Vietnam became a
subject scale after the US troops had committed to combat in fighting in the war. “The U.S.
Military Assistance Command made military transportation readily available to newspeople, and
some took advantage of this frequently...
