Analyse how Text A uses language to create meanings and representations
In Text A one of the features used to positively represent the company Legal and General is the use of verbs: specifically, the pragmatics. For example, established, responsible and rely; all of these verbs create similar effects. These verbs have the intention of creating the idea that the company is trusted and should be interacted with. With a person reading these verbs would make the person feel attracted to using this company because they have been led to believe that they are a high quality and reliable company. The verb responsible extends the idea of the company being skilled and open to new customers, the readers positive opinion will be reinforced by these verbs and their pragmatics.
As well as plenty of verbs there are also a few different sentence moods which are used; mostly declarative, this sentence mood creates a down to earth statement along with factual statements which tell the reader the exact information the company wants them to know about, this gives the reader an idea of what the companies positive attributes are.
