Mototorola's news that its ROKR EM30 is the 22nd LiMo handset follows yesterday's news about seven new LiMo handsets, including models from NEC and Panasonic. The ROKR EM30 is a GSM quad-band phone that supports global roaming and offers music features.
Alfresco Software has a new hookup with Canonical, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu. Canonical will offer Alfresco Labs 3, enterprise content management software, as part of a software download in its partner repository.
Linux has been notorious for causing Wi-Fi users headaches, but better tools are appearing all the time. At LinuxWorld, Xirrus has announced a new Wi-Fi Monitor utility, targeted as an open source applet for monitoring and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks.
Pivot3 has announced Pivot3 Serverless Networking, which allows for the elimination of dedicated application servers, replacing them with less costly X86-based storage nodes.
EasyCo is showing off its Managed Flash technology, which improves the processing speeds of solid state disks. It's Flash memory engineered to look like a disk drive to the processor.
