Gun Control
“You won’t get gun control by disarming law-abiding citizens. There’s only one way to get real gun control; Disarm the thugs and the criminals, lock them up and if you don’t actually throw away the key, at least lose it for a long time...It’s a nasty truth, but those who seek to inflict harm are not fazed by gun controllers. I happen to know this from personal experience. (Ronald Reagan) Gun control continues to raise concerns especially with recent events.  Individuals walking down the street feel that it is a death sentence due to safety concerns and the need to protect themselves without legal issues. Owning a gun and being able to carry it without persecution allows individuals to be able to protect themselves and have a sense of justice. Due to recent events, the government wants to exam how to take away our Second Amendment right. The government does have some responsibility when looking at the manufacturing and distribution of all weapons however the people should not be penalized in owning weapons to protect themselves and their property.  In today’s society, it has become a necessity to be able to defend a person's well being and placing to many regulations on gun owners will not resolve the real issues that the government needs to fix. This paper will support the position that regulations on gun control is not the answer and why individuals right’s should not be violated.
Criminals are criminals if they wanted guns they would get them. According to statistics, criminals can be linked to illegal drug activity.  Drugs still find there way into the U.S. Access to illegal drugs entering the United States and in the hands of criminals can also be said for the handling of unregistered guns or illegal modifications.  The same concept would be with guns. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens does not resolve criminals having access to weapons. Gun control is a good idea to a point, but it will not stop our issues in this country, we are already too far gone to be able to come back up and stop it now. Removing all guns is not the answer but self control is. “Arming more people will make our country safer and more peaceful, they say, because criminals won't cause trouble if they know they are surrounded by gun-toting good guys.”  says Melinda Wenner Moyer. Arming more good citizens will be able to help our society heal quicker. Citizens should learn gun safety and be responsible instead of being treated like children and get their ‘toys’ taken away.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Constitution of United States of America 1789 (rev. 1992). The Second Amendment supports citizens right to bear arms and ultimately protect ourselves. The founding fathers of this land before us put these laws in place for the people, of the people.  Ownership of guns by ...
