Zionism is a movement working towards the re-establishment and development, as well as the protection of Israel. Over several years, four different Zionist ideologies have been developed. The first one is religious Zionism. The idea revolving around this ideology in particular, is to move to Israel and establish communities so that the messiah will therefore arrive quicker. This ideology was created and led by Rabbi Abraham Isaac Cooke. The second ideology is labor Zionism. This philosophy was developed by AD Gordon, who was an old caretaker involved in real estate. He believed in having a physical connection with the land in order to have a similar connection with Israel. The third philosophy, started by Theodore Herzl, was the beginning of the Zionist Congress in 1897. This political ideology defined Zionism for the first time in the hope for the establishment of a Jewish state. Finally, the last ideology is the revisionist Zionism created by Jabotinsky. Jabotinsky wanted to teach you Jewish children how to fight by establishing a Jewish army.
