Through the author's reference to Kaplansarticles, the reader is exposed to the requirement for culturalconnectives and Western appreciation through conveying, 'political' and'aesthetic' issues, relevant to Indigenous Australians within media. Theauthor implores the placement of Indigenous Australians in communalassociations within the film industry, whilst identifying the Westernassumption of the 'undifferentiated other' producing the juvenilepresumption that being Aboriginal gives increased comprehension andtherefore increased representation. Therefore, Langdon encourages theneed to draw upon Aboriginal and Western views and well as those of ahistorical nature.
