1917 during the set days of the first world war, the Russian Revolution took center stage. In the course of bringing about the transformation of Russia from an empire into the Soviet Union, it removed Russia from the war. The revolution happened through two separate stages of a coup, one in February and one in October, however, this writing will focus more on the October revolution. At the center of the revolution Vladimir Lenin, he had played a crucial role in bringing about and shaping the Russian Revolution and, ultimately in bringing about change in Russia (Timm, 2017). Under Vladimir Lenin, the new government would solidify three years after the civil war which came to an end in 1920. With Lenin at the core of change in Russia, this writing will explore his immense influence on the events which occurred during the revolution, it will look particularly at his influence leading to the October Revolution (Timm, 2017).
