Cinderella by two different cultures
Cinderella is a well-known fairytale all around the world, either writing by different authors or in different languages. The fairytale is about a girl named Cinderella whom live with her dad and stepmother, stepsisters after the losing her mother. The stories may well have different plots depending on the authors, but all has the same ideas. Cinderella get abused by her stepmother and stepsisters but at the end of the story, she is the fortunate one to get married to a prince. One of the most popular versions of Cinderella is by the French authors, Charles Perrault, because if his addition of the fairy-godmother, pumpkin and other characters (animal), another popular version of Cinderella is by the brothers Grimm’s which is more of a religious and violent story. Both Charles Perrault and the brother Grimm’s, derives from different backgrounds, hence, the purpose of this research paper is to show the different elements and influence each author had in their stories.
After the death of his first wife, a man, take for what he thought was the proudest and most haughty woman for a wife. The new wife has two daughters from a different marriage, as well as the man from his first wife named Cinderella. Cinderella new stepmother started showing her identity sooner after the weeding, because of her jealousy toward Cinderella. Cinderella was an incomparable beauty and sweetness of temper which was the opposite of her step-sisters who were like their mother, cruel and odious. Cinderella was to do every meanest work of the house and at night sleep in a sorry attic, however, she couldn’t dare tell her father afraid to be scolded, for he was governed by his wife. At night Cinderella would sit by the chimney, by the cinders and ashes which caused her to be called Cinderella. It occurs that the prince gave a ball and invited all the ladies of the town, as well as Cinderella and her steps-sisters, who were existed to be part of the guests for the hadn’t eaten a thing for almost two days. As the day of the ball approach Cinderella was in care of getting her stepsisters ready, for they had asked her for her opinion on the day of the ball Cinderella was left alone, while crying, her fairy godmother appear and help her get ready for the ball. For starter, the godmother transforms a pumpkin into a fine coach gilded with gold, then, mice into horses, rat into a coachman and Cinderella into the most beautiful princess with a pair of glass slippers. The ball lasted two day, on the second day Cinderella lost one of her glass slippers which was found by the prince, who proclaimed by the sound of trumpet that he would marry her whose foot fit the found glass slippers. After all fail attempt to find the owner of the glass slipper, the slipper was brought to Cinderella house were both stepsisters fail miserably by trying to fit them on, while Cinderella welcomed ...
