Electoral College
The electoral college has been apart of the American voting system for many years now. But as of recently there has been a discussion going around arguing if the electoral college is fair or not. Some people believe that the majority of the vote should be the winner. While the other side of the boat believes that the majority vote would not be fair and they would not be given there equal representation. In this country we need the electoral college so that the election will not be decided by the biggest states that may have different interests from other states.
According to document 1 of the DBQ several years after the U.S.A was founded the delegates of the states remembered how Brittan abused the American colonies. The delegates did not want the elections to be based purley off of the popular vote. These delegates had the fear of the uninformed voters which they feared would have a bad result. This is a really good point because, the uninformed voters could be blindly choosing a candidate without the full knowledge of what there morals are or what there policies are.
The next point is that each equal representation of each state. One of the arguments going on today it that the popular vote should be the final outcome of the election. This system would not be fair at all because some states have a much bigger population and different morals than ot...
