Final Reflection: ENG 112-WA
As I look back over my time in English 112, I can honestly say it’s been my favorite courses this semester. Not only have I learned more about my writing, but as well, the feedback I received from Professor Boyle was always motivational. I never had to wonder how I was doing in the course, what things I needed to improve on, or how what errors I made on an assignment, because she “you” always provided that much needed feedback. That isn’t always the case in a course.
More than anything, I’ve learned a great deal on improving my writing skills, both, academically and personally. Before starting this course, I always trouble with writing research essays. ENG 112 has guided me through the process of learning the appropriate way to write a research essay— from choosing topics, what kinds of information to include, and how to be mindful of the audience I’m most trying to reach. I’ve learned that when writing a research essay, using facts to support the information is a must. I’ve also learned that being somewhat knowledgeable about a topic can be helpful. Adding charts and graphs can also give an essay appeal as well as show the reader I’ve done my research.
