A problem with Selig's steroid policy was that it really had no stern punishment until the 3rd or 4th infraction. Now with this supposed "better" policy Selig is trying to make up for his big mistakes at congress. Showing that he really does care and hopes to improve on his own faults has hellped him but now it seems to be hurting the players.Just a few months ago Reggie Sanchez was found to be using illegal performance enhancing drugs. Then just a few weeks later Juan Rincon was also guilty of the same offense. Both of which were first time offenses for the two gentlemen. What was weird was the fact that these two gentlemen were really no names in the game of baseball. People kept wondering why there were rumors about all these big time names using steroids but none of which were actually found to be using them. How can that be? Well its because all people do is focus on the negatives of life. Barry Bonds for example has set numerous records including the walk and homerun records in a season. But noone talks about that as much as they do about his tax fraud and steroid rumors now do they? That's the problem with sports now a days, to much controversy going on. Just let these guys play, let the people enjoy the games, and let go of all these rumors and hurting a guys reputation on and off the field.Steroids may be a bad thing going on in sports and mainly the focus is on baseball now but people need to just let the professionals handle that and enjoy the sport for its wonderful possiblities. These guys are being humiliated in front of millions of people, so why even bother with trying to make them feel worse? Our job as fans is to watch, learn, and have fun, not criticize these guys.
