An assessment centre is basically a process where a group of candidates are assessed to determine their suitability for specific types of jobs with various exercises. Assessment centres can be a useful and effective way of deciding a candidate’s suitability for a job as it will lower the risk of making poor recruitment choices in an organisation that could cost more in the future (SOURCE,N.D). From this, it is more likely that candidates will have a more positive time being interviewed alone at an assessment centre (SOURCE,N.D). When choosing exercises that will be used to asset a candidate’s suitability, the organisation is advised to write a job description and perform a job analysis as well as a competency profile.

Internal Candidate Sourcing is the process of seeking candidates for special job positions from people who are currently employed within the firm. This recruitment process can be used to save money and time as it is just hiring existing employees to perform more jobs and does not require any paid promotion. Additionally, employees may decide to encourage outside family and friends to apply for the job because they know organisation’s culture. (SOURCE, N.D). Likewise, employers who already have the necessary skills required can help the organisation save time in interviewing and recruiting outside candidates. Lastly, this process can waive any training related fees when recruiting new employees while improving the morals and productivity of current employees if they personally receive the opportunity to expand and improve their skillset (SOURCE, N.D).

External Recruitment Agencies operate solely to provide businesses that are currently looking to fill open positions with a pool of skilled candidates that are qualified for open job vacancies (SOURCE, N.D). This recruitment process is ideal for businesses that wish to hire quality candidates for a specific job. In contrast, current employees may be indirectly encouraged to put in more effort to obtain a promotion for the open job position (SOURCE, N.D).
