Once the database reaches an excess of 25MB in size, problems arise. Because we process more than 1000 maintenance records each month, the data must be archived often to protect the database integrity. Bunker Hill, a database development and re-engineering company reported that the maximum database size of MS-Access is about 1/2 to 2 GB. The practical number of concurrent users depends on database size. Network and application performance decreases substantially as the number of concurrent users increase.We have set a retirement plan for this system to move to our MS SQL database. This database currently houses our relational manufacturing-related information.
