The physician went in to talk to her about going home with hospice and she didn’t want to hear it or talk to the doctor and told her to get out of the room. I asked the patient if I could speak with her one and one alone and she agreed. I asked her what she wanted no one else but her and she started to cry and told me that all she wanted to do was go home and spend her remaining days with her grandkids but her daughter did not want her to she wanted her to stay in the hospital. After listening to her wishes I said if I could make it all happen would she except the hospice care and she said yes.
