The Most Misunderstood Action
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States, but this is not counting other countries or going into age groups. Those are very different numbers like: it’s the second leading cause of death in 10-24 year old’s globally. I cannot even fathom that. If you go into the search bar on google and type “suicide” first thing to pop up is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, but after that you get a bunch of articles about someone who has committed suicide. Even though we are in 2018, we still don’t quite have the concept of what suicide is.
Suicide can be caused by many different mental health diseases, but the two that are more closely associated with suicide is depression and anxiety. Suicide can also be caused by bullying or people with terminal illnesses. It does not have to be just one thing. People go to therapy to help them with their problems, but some people don’t want to speak up about their problems.
