‘The human will to survive is what motivates Connor, Risa and Lev.’ Discuss
Neil Shusterman’s novel Unwind captivates the readers in a very strange way. Unwind follows three teens on their intriguing journey of being unwinds. A journey which is physically, mentally and socially demanding for all unwinds. The will to survive with the help of each other is going to help them progress. A huge amount of courage and bravery is shown.
The biggest factor for surviving is that Connor, Risa and Lev stick together and have each others back. All three of them have been having thoughts about home, this is not a situation they want to be in. Without each other they would have no one to go to no one to seek help from. ‘I’ve been having a lot of wrong thoughts’ Lev tells Pasta Dan ‘What are you doing? Leave me alone!’ Lev doesn’t understand that he can’t push people away or he will have no where to go, no one to provide help, no one to talk to, no one, just nothing.
Lev is feeling down on himself and this whole experience is getting to him. He needed someone to talk to him, Connor and Risa has their own differences, together they worked out a way to motivate each other and get through this together, Pasta Dan was there for all three of them he acted as a father to them, he was there to shield them...
