The ability to detect and to manage emotional cues and information. In order for a team to be successful its members must exhibit the ability to perceive emotions in self and others (conscientiousness), understand the meaning of emotions (cognitive) and regulate emotions (emotional stability). When an individual is conscious about his strengths, weakness, emotions, beliefs and motivation, it would let him to detached from his emotions when dealing with any situation. Also self-awareness would allow the individual to be mindful of how others view him and correct any problems at any given time. Empathy is another factor that members of the team should have in their character in order to build trust in each other, and to keep high levels of motivation within the group which will help to perform better and to accomplish the goal successfully.
