Essay On Personal Strengths

754 words - 4 pages

Everyone has different qualities or traits that show what a person is capable of and also that influence one's decisions in life. These are labeled as strengths. I used to listen to my family, friends, and even co-workers on what they thought my strengths were. Now as I've gotten older, I've come to realize my own assessment of myself and have pinpointed out my specific personal strengths. My individual strengths help me in certain situations and also have a big part in how I'm transitioning into a better me, day by day.

When it comes to sports and games, I have to keep playing until the event is completely finished, no matter if I'm doing my best or doing my worst. Being goal-oriented doesn't just help me with all of the fun activities I have going on but also school. When I get home from school for the week, I have a list of tasks that I need to get done in a certain order and by a certain time. Sticking and following through with my goals is a great strength in my opinion, because it helps me continuously make improvements in my life. Setting goals helps me get things done so much easier than not having a plan set out. My friends and family say they can count on me for that exact reason. At family gatherings or even a girl's night out, I am always early or right on time. It is absolutely one of my best strengths.

I'm also a good listener in every kind of way. Being a good listener makes me more appreciated by the people whom I talk to. All of my friends know that they can come to me at any given moment, with any situation that they are in. I will let them ramble and vent to me as much as they want, and I will listen to every detail, so I can give them nothing but the best response and advice. Being a good listener, I notice people favor my company over others who dominate the conversation and barely let the ot...
